Mel Gibson is now explaining his short-tempered "Asshole" reaction over his recent interview in Chicago's WGN TV.
The "Edge of Darkness" star is denying that his on-air insult is aimed at Chicago reporter Dean Richards. Apparently, Mel's unnecessary remark is meant for his publicist.
In a text message to KTLA's Sam Rubin Wednesday, Gibson said his publicist was making faces at him off-camera, and the actor didn't realize he was still on air when he called him a (jerk).
Hmm... Do you believe in Mel's denial? Clearly Damage control...
