Offers to buy "American Idol"; $800 million in advertising revenue

Many are circling around to buy FOX's hit show "American Idol" and reportedly, bidders are offering nice numbers to CKX Inc., the company that owns the show.

Despite 9% down in ratings from last season and Simon Cowell’s departure, FOX still estimated $800 million in advertising revenue, according to the L.A. Times.

Many are still thinking that "American Idol" is still a good investment and it will continue to deliver big dollar even though upcoming rival "The X Factor" will be joining the spotlight.
