"Bruno" got the no.1 box-office fame with $30.4 million

Sacha Baron Cohen’s funny-controversial outing "Bruno" captures the no.1 spot in the weekend box office. The gay Austrian fashion reporter scored $30.4 million in ticket sales.

Even though it surpassed the debut weekend of its predecessor “Borat” with $26.5 million, Borat was shown in 837 theaters compared to Bruno's 2,756 theaters.

20th Century Fox's romantic comedy "I Love You, Beth Cooper" starring Hayden Panettiere opened with $5 million, landed at No. 7 spot.
