Farrah Fawcett had fought a tough battle with the Big C (anal cancer), diagnosed back in 2006. She died at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California June 25, 9:28 am. She was 62. Yesterday, her family gave their last goodbyes.
She received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of a battered wife in the 1984 TV movie The Burning Bed and received two more Emmy nominations for her roles as a predator in the miniseries Small Sacrifices and in 2004's The Guardian.
Ryan O'Neal said in a statement to Us, "After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world.Fawcett is a former college beauty queen who become very popular with her sporty undercover role as detective Jill Munroe on 1970's Charlie's Angels.
