Casey Aldridge - the father of Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie, is now recovering and in stable condition at at the University of Mississippi Medical Center after he was injured in a car accident Sunday morning in Louisiana. (April 27, 2009)

The 19 year-old dad is now facing a misdemeanor charge for careless operation of a motor vehicle -single-car crash.

TMZ updates: "Louisiana State Troopers tell us three of the five people riding in Casey Aldridge's truck were ejected during the crash -- and Casey was one of them.Any person who had a near death experience will help him study and focus more to straighten his priorities in life.
Two others who were ejected refused medical treatment at the scene."
