Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman spearheaded the newly created beauty pageant, the Turismo Pilipina.
Turismo Pilipina is created by Turismo Pilipina Charities, Inc. that will conduct a nationwide search for the Filipina beauty who will be the official spokesperson for the Department of Tourism. It will promote the tourism potentials of the Philippines, instill awareness of the richness and diversity of the country’s culture and heritage thru it’s pageant theme.
It will also represent the Philippines in international tourism pageants. (You can red the qualifications below).
Other Board of Directors are Bb. Pilipinas International 2006 Denille Lou Valmonte and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2002 Karen Loren Agustin.

- at least 5’5
- Single and never been married or given birth
- good moral standing
- possessing beauty of face and figure
- at least a high school graduate
- has a good knowledge of Philippine tourism and the Philippines in general
