Ashley Harkleroad, ranked no. 61 in Top 100 in women’s tennis, who proudly confirmed and announced that she will appear in Playboy for the August 2008 edition. This announcement happen after her lost at the 2008 French Open.
Harkleroad said after the match. "I'm proud of my body. I was representing a female athlete's body."
"I'll be the first tennis player ever. That's kind of cool"
Ashley will be the first professional tennis player to pose nude in the said magazine. Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard and former volleyball player Gabrielle Reese are the previous athletes that posed for Playboy.
