American Idol's age limit is now 15

American Idol wants to explore all singing talent possibilities as the competitions heats up! Idol decided to lowered its age limit requirements for the show’s upcoming season. Young aspiring singers with the age from 15-28 can now join the competition.

Executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz says, "A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16. Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool."

Aside from developing and finding future top singers, it will also opens up possibilities for future teen stars. Audition dates starts July 17 in Nashville, Tenn.; Milwaukee (July 21); New Orleans (July 26); East Rutherford, N.J. (Aug. 3); )
Austin (Aug. 11); San Francisco (Aug. 19).
