After the last year's success, Regal Entertainment decided to reunite the lovely half-sisters of the film Desperadas with a sequel. It also an entry for the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Desperadas 2 will showcase once again the colorful life of Isabela, Courtney, Stephanie and Patricia with a new added surprise. They will discovered their new and fifth long-lost sister, Ogie Alcasid that will add more fun and bigger treat to everyone who has followed the life story of the Desperadas sisters.
The film brings a deeper and closer peek into the different issues and personal struggles of the five sisters as they cope with life’s endless ups and downs.
Starring Ruffa Gutierrez (Isabella), Rufa Mae Quinto (Patricia), Iza Calzado (Stephanie) and Marian Rivera (Courtney). The sequel is directed by Joel Lamangan and penned by scriptwriter Roy Iglesias.
The Half-Sisters:
Ruffa Gutierrez as Isabella. She is a single mother who had financial problems in the past but doesn't admit it. Now, she is a successful entrepreneur of beauty products. Despite her thriving business, Isabella gets entangled in a big scandal that will change her life instantly.
Rufa Mae Quinto as Patricia. She was already annulled with Dave. Now, an easy-going woman who has a politician-boyfriend, Patricia feels she has no problems at all until a revelation of having a corrupt partner surprises her.
Iza Calzado as Stephanie. Stephanie now has a kid and experiences post-partum blues. In the midst of her marital woes, Stephanie turns to her sisters and seeks their help and advice.
Marian Rivera as Courtney. Courtney is now happily married with his basketball star husband, Patrick. She is an accomplished and chic fashion designer. Her husband left him because he feels that Courtney doesn't give her much time.
Ogie Alcasid as Lugaluda. Originally a male, Ogie plays a female character. She plays Lugaluda, the Kwelali Princess who happens to be the long-lost half-sister of the Isabella, Patricia, Stephanie and Courtney. Despite being physically-absent in the lives of her half-sisters, Luga Luda manages to develop a special bond and friendship with the four Desperadas.
