The nasty feud between Willie Revillame and his former mother network ABS-CBN continues..... Willie Revillame's new show "Willing Willie" is still up as it shakes the primetime block after ABS-CBN failed to stopped the airing of the program.
The Kapamilya network fired another bomb by filing a P127-million copyright infringement suit against Revillame.
In the 33-page complaint filed before the Makati Regional Trial Court on Nov. 24, claimed that the parties in question “deliberately and intentionally imitated ‘Wowowee,’” a top-rating noontime show which Revillame previously hosted on ABS-CBN, thereby violating section 172.2 of the Intellectual Property Code.
Also included in the lawsuit is his company Wil Productions, Inc., and the president of his new home network, TV5's Ray Espinosa.
ABS-CBN claimed that "Willing Willie" is "undeniably a copycat of Wowowee".
Some of the similarities which ABS-CBN noted:
- Production number done at the beginning of the show
- “Big Time Ka” and “Willtime Bigtime” segments against “Wowowee”’s “Biga-Ten” and “Willie of Fortune.”
- “Willing Willie” dancers and other characters who previously appeared on “Wowowee”
- The lighting, camera angles, set and stage layout.
Aside from P127 Million, ABS-CBN wants a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) and/or a Writ of Injunction to restrain Revillame, ABC and their other co-defendants from further producing and airing the infringing show Willing-Willie.
