It seems they want to surpass the hosting success delivered by Neil Patrick Harris in the last primetime Emmys. The Oscars is getting two funny guys to host the next year's awards event.
Their tapping the services of Hollywood veterans Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin to co-host the 82nd Annual Academy Awards on March 7, 2010, at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.

An Oscar veteran, Martin has hosted the show twice before, in 2001 and 2003, and has appeared as a presenter several times while 30 Rock actor is a first-timer as Oscar host.
