"Ded na si Lolo" is Philippines' entry to the 2010 Oscar Awards

The Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) has announced that Soxie Topacio's dramedy "Ded na si Lolo" is the Philippines' entry to the 82nd Academy Awards best foreign language film category next year.

This APT Entertainment produced film, who also received a grade "A" rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) bested eleven other Pinoy films like:

Concerto (Solito Arts Productions and Seiko Films)

Lola (Centerstage productions)
Manila (MJM Productions and Bicycle Pictures)
Adela (Bicycle Pictures)

"Ded na si Lolo" depicts Filipino superstitions regarding death. Cast includes BJ Forbes, Elizabeth Oropesa, Gina Alajar, Roderick Paulate, Manilyn Reynes, Rainier Castillo, and Dick Israel.

Judy Ann Santos “Ploning" was the Philippines' entry to the 2009 Oscar Awards.

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will be on March 7, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre.
