Pierce Brosnan and Uma Thurman will be a Greek mythology characters in their upcoming film, "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief". Other cast includes Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd and Melina Kanakaredes.
20th Century Fox acquired feature film rights to the novel created by Rick Riordan. In April 2007, director Chris Columbus was hired to helm the project.

According to DH, "For the Gods, Bean is set to play Zeus, McKidd will play Poseidon and Kanakaredes will be Athena. Brosnan will play the centaur Chiron, and Thurman will play the Gorgon Medusa. The key roles of Aries, Hades and Persephone have not yet been cast."It is a story of a young boy who discovers he's the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods. A quest to stop a dangerous apocalyptic war.
