"Cory" musical presents the life story of Former President Corazon Aquino from her childhood until her installment into power by the much-admired 1986 People Power Revolution,
Veteran stage actress Isay Alvarez is portraying the role of the Philippines' first female president.
The musical is written and directed by Nestor Torre while the libretto was created by Bing Pimentel, songwriter and wife of Senator Pimentel.
Pimentel has composed 19 original songs for the musical, spanning a wide range of themes, emotions and styles to musically vivify the varied dramatic impulses of the script’s unfolding story.
Also starring in this significant original Filipino musicals are Robert Sena as former President Ferdinand Marcos, Pinky Marquez as wife Imelda, and Sherwyn Sozon as Ninoy Aquino.
It will be staged in October and November at the Meralco Theater.
