Zac Efron is a drug smuggler in "Snabba Cash (Easy Money)" remake

Zac Efron is set to star as a cocaine smuggler in the upcoming thriller "Snabba Cash (Easy Money)", remake of the Swedish thriller film based on a novel by Jens Lapidufor.
The thriller follows three interconnected storylines involving drugs and organized crime, with the main character a young man (played in the original by Joel Kinnaman) who hopes to strike it rich quickly by becoming a runner for a coke dealer. Efron would play the runner in the WB version. - THR reports
This movie is a big break for Efron as he develop his acting skills in a different mature genre.

Warner Bros won the bidding war for this movie.

Meanwhile, his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens is taking a racy role as Mimi Márquez (HIV-positive exotic dancer) in stage production of "Rent" at the Hollywood Bowl on August 6-8.
