Producer post bail in Letterman extortion plot

48 Hours producer Robert Joel Halderman plead not guilty on charges of trying to extort $2 million from Late Night host David Letterman for an alleged relationship with his former staff.
According to TMZ, "Halderman just posted bail -- which was set at $200,000. Judge Michael Melkonian also issued a temporary order of protection, which requires Halderman to stay away from Letterman."
Investigations are now being conducted if Halderman's reported financial debt is one of his possible motives. He is reportedly has relationship with Lettermen assistant Stephanie Birkitt.

The 51 year-old suspect is facing five to 15 years behind bars if convicted.
