Korean actress Lee Young-ae, who is popularly known as Jang Geum in the hit series Jewel in The Palace tied the knot to Korean-American businessman in an intimate secret wedding ceremony in the United States (August 24). Only close friends and family were invited to celebrate the couple's union.
Keeping it private, the only details about Lee Young-ae's husband is that he is working in the field of IT and identified only as Mr. Jung.
Expressing her apologies to the fans for not being able to announce her marriage through an official press conference, Lee said, "I truly thank all the fans who have supported me and given me love through the years, as well as those in the entertainment industry. In a short while, I will pay you my formal respects."
"Jewel in The Palace" which also aired in the Philippines via GMA Network, rated as the highest rating Korean novela in primetime from November 2005 to April 2006. Due to its massive popularity, the show was re-run and still it got high ratings.
