'Titanic' Gloria Stuart Dies at 100

Actress Gloria Stuart, popularly known for her role as an older version of Kate Winslet’s Rose in “Titanic”, has passed away Sunday, September 26. She died of lung cancer at the age of 100 years old.

Gloria was nominated at the 1998 Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in James Cameron's epic movie "Titanic" but sadly, she lost to Kim Basinger (L.A. Confidential). She's the oldest actress ever to be nominated for an Oscar.

Gloria movie credits are “The Invisible Man“, “Gold Diggers of 1935“, “The Prisoner of Shark Island” and “Poor Little Rich Girl“.

Gloria Stuart published her autobiography, "I Just Kept Hoping", in 1999, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000.
