After ABS-CBN dismissed Ogie Diaz for violations of management’s code of Ethics, TV-radio host and columnist Cristy Fermin is now on the firing line. Cristy's contract is been suspended until December 31, 2008.
Cristy's contract in Sunday entertainment talk show "The Buzz" and her daily radio program on dzMM, Showbiz Mismo are now suspended.[ABS-CBN statement below]
The suspension are about her the alleged slanderous report committed by Fermin against Nadia Montenegro on the show’s Oct. 5 episode. She revealed that Nadia has child from another man aside from her children from the current husband. She also reveals Nadia's multi-million debt.

Here's the ABS-CBN's statement:
"Ang kontrata ni Ms. Cristy Fermin bilang host ng The Buzz sa ABS-CBN Channel 2 at anchorperson ng Showbiz Mismo sa DZMM ay sinuspende hanggang December 31, 2008.
"Ang suspensyon ng talent contracts ni Ms. Fermin sa ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation ay may kaugnayan sa mga naging pahayag niya sa episode ng The Buzz noong October 5, 2008. Ang aksyong ito ni Ms. Fermin ay lumabag sa ilang probisyon ng kanyang kontrata.
"Sa pananaw ng kompanya, nadamay ang mga batang walang kinalaman sa kontrobersya sa kanyang pahayag.
"Nalabag din ng aksyon ni Ms. Fermin ang mataas na batayan ng propesyonalismo at integridad sa pamamahayag. Ito ay nagdulot ng kapinsalaan hindi lamang sa kanyang pangalan at kredibilidad, kundi sa programang The Buzz at sa ABS-CBN."
