Reese Witherspoon's Tokyo fundraising

Reese Witherspoon with her sweet smile poses for the photographers as she wears and displayed the traditional Japanese kimono in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

As an Avon Global Ambassador she introduce the Avon’s first-everglobal fundraising product, “Women’s Empowerment Bracelet” and she met women who are breast cancer survivors.

Reese said, “As Avon’s Global Ambassador, I’m honored to have this opportunity to meet with such extraordinary women, and experience a highlight of Japanese culture,” Reese said. “While their courage is inspiring, I was saddened to hear that only about 12% of women in Japan receive regular breast cancer screening. The lack of testing equipment and breast cancer experts in Japan means that many women here do not have access to the medical technology and care that is critical to diagnose and fight this deadly disease.”

The first $500,000 raised by bracelet sales will be matched by Avon, totaling a $1 million contribution to the UN Trust Fund for new grants for women’s issues.
