John Lennon's killer denied parole for fifth time

It's a big No, No for the fifth time for the killer of Beatle member John Lennon. The New York State Parole Board again denied the release of Mark David Chapman. He was imprisoned for murdering former Beatle John Lennon in his Central Park West home in 1980. Chapman is serving a sentence of 20 years to life.

Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono said, “It’s dangerous for him to come out, Not only for us, but for himself.”

“[It's] not so much because of punishment. There are so many people out there who dislike him. It’s safer for him to stay in jail.”
